    Schools & Educational Facilities

The provision of solutions for the education sector has been a focus of The P.A. People since the beginning.

The P.A. People can provide systems for almost any educational need. Our expertise stretches from systems for distance learning, where the teachers and students are connected only by radio waves, fully integrated systems for use in lecture theatres performance systems for theatres and halls for straight forward speech reinforcement and highly complex theatrical productions.

From humble beginnings the now infamous brown portable P.A. systems (for which we are still known) have been the staple P.A. system of many of schools around Australia, both public and private.

Many school halls and facilities throughout New South Wales have P.A. systems designed and installed in them by The P.A. People.

The P.A. People have also been a technology leader in the education field. We have designed and installed over thirty AMX controlled lecture theatre systems for the University of Sydney, and provided studio and central equipment for the ‘School of the Air’ in both Queensland and the Northern Territory.

Our rental and hire operations also provide many services to schools to facilitate events such as sports carnivals and to provide equipment, technical backup, training and support for extra curricular activities including musicals and productions.

Of great importance in all of these installations is ease of use. Users in these environments are rarely audio visual ‘experts’ and they require an intuitive interface, whether it be full touch screen integration or a simple switch to power the entire system for instant use.

  • The P.A. People have installed systems in over thirty lecture theatres in Sydney University since 1995.

A typical theatre includes video and data projection, slide projection, comprehensive preview monitor facilities, automatic and/or manual audio mixing, hard of hearing loops, radio microphones, and a comprehensive AMX control system with lecturers touch screen, infra red controllers, and wall mounted remote control panels.

Integration with building services such as occupancy sensors and air conditioning is also standard. Many of these theatres also feature our unique lectern with electric height adjustment.

  • The venue has two interlinked speaker systems operated from a common interface. The first system is used for school assemblies and musicals etc. It comprises six Bose 802 speakers hung over the stage area.

The second system on the other face of the room is used for chapel services. It consists of three Bose 502A cabinets mounted above a stained glass window on what would otherwise be the side wall of the room.

A simple control system allows the selection of one of three control systems (simple for chapel, simple for assembly, or complex for either system) as appropriate for the particular function.
